Wedding Weekend Here I Come

Sadly to say this will be my last post until Sunday or Monday. I'm leaving tonight for my brother's wedding in Baltimore. Though I'm very excited I will miss my laptop(i know I know - I'm a geek.)

No, in all seriousness I am very excited to be getting away for the weekend. I am off of work tomorrow and Monday which will give me much needed rest and relaxation. I'm picking up my Bridesmaid dress tonight from my Mom's house(hopefully it is no longer a disaster).

Here is my weekend agenda:

Drive down to Baltimore - Put together "Welcome Bags" (ya know my brother and future sister-in-law are very lucky they have me. I've done the bridal shower, bridal shower invitations, the invitations for the rehearsal dinner, the welcome bags - I was very happy to do everything cause I do LOVE weddings)

Tomorrow night we have the rehearsal dinner, followed by a party at the hotel. Saturday is hair appointments and wedding at 6 pm at the Baltimore Muesum of Art followed by the reception at Gertrude's. Then, hopefully Sunday morning Brian and I will be able to go to the Science Center and check out the

Body Worlds Exhibit(I did 1 of my very 1st posts on this topic).

All in all I am SUPER excited for my older brother's wedding! I am looking forward to spending time with all of my family! Be on the look out next week for wedding pics! I leave you with this cute wedding poem:

A wedding is a party with,

Of course, a wedding cake.

But sometimes by the time it comes,

It's hard to stay awake.

People need to talk a lot,

And laugh and joke and kiss,

And cry - why do they cry?

- and mentionGod and love and bliss.

Two people have decided that

They'll share one house for life,

And call themselves,

instead of friends,

A husband and a wife.

And so we have to get dressed up,

And eat a lot, and wait

For hours till they finally serve

The great big wedding cake.

I hope everyone has a GREAT weekend!!

Talk to you soon!!

Bridesmaid Dress Fitting!

OK!! So - I had my fitting for my bridesmaid dress for my brother's wedding.. You're probably wondering if it looks good - Ummm, not so much!!

I mean it doesn't look horrible - but it doesn't look that great..

Oh well, it's not my wedding!
I just have to suck it up and wear it for 1 day right? I love the dress but since the size was so big I feel that the dress just
doesn't look right!

The countdown to his wedding has officially begun - the wedding is exactly 9 days away (Saturday, May 17th, 2008).

I'm am very excited despite the dress disaster! I am happy my brother has found a great woman to make his wife!

Next - my best friend is getting married on June 29th

(I'm the Maid of Honor, YAY).

I haven't picked up that bridesmaid dress yet -
so Please, Please, Please keep your fingers crossed that, that dress works out! I am a little nervous.
P.S. - For fun check out these other Bridesmaid Dress Disasters..
I guess mine could be worse, LOL...

Bridesmaid Dress Disaster

So I'm super excited that my brother is getting married in exactly a month..
I love my future sister-in-law and can't wait to party at their wedding..
I was even more excited once they got engaged and Heather(the bride to be) asked me to be in the wedding... The BIG downer was when my dress came in 6 SIZES TOO BIG and the bridal shop said they wouldn't and couldn't do anything about it!! The kicker is that the owner of Bridal Store where we ordered the dress is my future sister-in-laws best friend - who is also in the wedding!! Can you believe that!! If I were her i would be SO SUPER EMBARRASSED!!
I could understand if my dress was a little big - but the fact that they ordered me the wrong size and now they expect me to pay for altereations!! Come on!! I brought my dress to 2 different places and they said it would be about $300 dollars to alter since the entire dress needed to be fixed (the bones need to be taken out and the top needs to be taken in, the sides, the bottom, the sash needs to be cut and shortened.. Oh did I forget that the whole dress needs to be cut in two because it is that big!!
Luckily my mom works at a Clothing store and her good friend is a tailor. She said she would do it for me - and only charge me $100 dollars, but she did say she should have charged somewhere around $400..... Can you believe that? I need to go in this weekend for a fitting - I'll let you know how it works out!
I'm just sorry I didn't take a before pic... Here is what the dress looks like:

Hopefully it will all work out..
Sorry for the rant.. I needed to vent!
