Swine Flu.........

So I walked in to work yesterday to hear that the Swine Flu has hit my hospital!!! Grrrrrrreat.. What a way to start off a work week!!

It doesn't mean that my floor will get hit with it, but if some of my kids come through the ER and people infected with the Swine Flu go to the ER it's apossibility of it hitting my floor.. And you know me..... I tend to be a freak with things like that! I was worried last week about contrating the Swine Flu and now it's in my hospital!!!

I see a ton of handwashing in my future and lots of Handsanitizer.... As soon as I came home from work yesterday I scrubbed myself from top to bottom in the shower with hot hot hot water and LOTS of soap!!! I also ran right to the washer and washed all of my clothes!!! Hey, you can't be too careful, right?

what's the deal with the Swine Flu in your area? Are you concerned about it?

I know I am!!!!

Must Get Delsym

So i feel like I have been M.I.A. this week - it's just that I still feel so crappy! I'm just hoping that I start to feel better ASAP cause Bri and I leave for Vegas a week from Saturday. I promised myself I would got to the EMO on saturday if I didn't feel any better. So, I'll keep you posted!! I mean, who wants to be sick for their vacation? Not me!!

Anyway, since I've been sick this week I have developed such a nasty cough that has kept me up for the past 3 nights in a row. So you can imagine what kind of kindergarten teacher I have been this week(a not so smily, very grumpy one)...

Last night my mom told me to go out and get this medicine called Delsym. She said that she heard it was great for coughs... So Brian went out and picked up dinner(and did the dishes, and rubbed my back, and cleaned up) and I told him to pick me up some of this Delsym stuff... And let me tell you it worked like a charm.. It was the most relief I have seen in days. And thank goodness cause my head felt like it was about to explode like a volcano waiting to rupture..... So i wanted to pass along this little bit of info. It used to be a perscription but now it's OTC lucky for me!!! So check it out if you are ever in need of a cough medicine...

I know this is a lame post for today, but I'm beat and not looking forward to a long, rainy friday with little ones..... My head is just not in it...

Slowly

I am slowly getting better!! I haven't been online much and I know my reader is overflowing with great posts!! I will be up and running tomorrow and will for sure be back to a normal schedule!!! Hope everyone had a much better weekend then I did!!

reaction to FLU SHOT

All i have to say is YUCK(eventhough I'd probably feel better using a different word that ryhmes with yuck)! But i feel totally and utterly yucky! Just like crap!!

So I decided to get the Flu Shot Thursday afternoon.. I have been planning on getting it but just have been putting it off.. So when i walked in to the foodstore Thursday to go grocery shopping I was estatic to see a table set up saying "Get Your Flu Shot Here." I felt like there were no more excuses not to get it!! So I manned up and got the shot!

About 2 hours later my arm hurt like hell! But i brushed it off.. Well yesterday I woke up with the chills and body aches.. I felt horrible all day long.. Now I feel even worse - Fever, extreme Nauseousness, back and body aches, etc.. do i need to go on! I feel like I have the Flu!! GREAT!! Wasn't I trying to prevent this from happening?

So I did some research (i know- I probably should have done it before the shot) and though tons of doctors say you can't get the flu from the shot they do say you get all of the symptoms - so hello? What the hell does that mean? You don't get the flu, just the symptoms; beats me! They also say if it's the 1st time you're getting the shot (which it was for me) that you should expect all of those feelings... So I'm pretty much left miserable now until this god awful feeling goes away!!

I am soooo regretting getting the shot **BIG SIGH**

So much for having a nice, relaxing weekend!!

Flu Shot

OK.... so we are approaching that time of year.. The dreaded Flu Season... Working with little kids and other adults that are always around little kids I am prone to colds, germs, and the ful right? Last season the flu ran rampant around my school - many of my friends got it and unfortuantely so did I!! So i was thinking about getting the Flu Shot this season but I'm nervous! I'm not nervous about the pain or getting a shot - I am nervous I am going to get the Flu from the shot. And really who wants to deal with that.

I know that's a stupid reason not to get it because doctors say you won't get the Flu from the vacination, but it still makes me unsure!

Have any of you or anyone you know gotten the Flu Shot before? Were there side effects? What should I do? Get it or Not??

I think I need some guidance!
