English Bulldog Puppy Help!?

I've been doing a TON and I mean a TON of research about English Bulldogs lately since Brian and I have decided to get a puppy this summer..
I've been searching for the perfect breeder and thought I finally came across her. After speaking with her twice on the phone and twice over email I figured she was the one. She has been breeding dogs with her family for the past 20 years and really seems to be interested in the well being of her pups which is great! The litters are due sometime around May 29. Yes that's right litters! She has 2 dogs due to have babies sometime soon.
Well anyway... I've been trying to get in touch with her for the past 2 weeks and NOTHING!
Now i'm nervous that she won't contact me... I've tried calling and emailed her twice and I've got nothing back! It's so weird!!
So i started looking in to other breeders but cant find anyone reputable in my area!!
So this is where you come in.....
I'm curious to know if you know of any good Bulldog breeders in the Tri-State Area? We3 want to get a Bulldog strictly from a Breeder, NOT a petstore... Bulldog's tend to have health issues as it is and I want to be sure I get a well cared for puppy in good health. Not how those puppy mills treat their animals...
Also, any Bulldog advice would be much appreciated!! I think I've got most of it all covered but would love your advice or Puppy suggestions in general. Throw 'em out there!! I'm ready and waiting!!

Hi. I have been following your blog for a while, but I don't think I have ever commented. My hubby and I are interested in getting an English Bulldog Puppy too. We are just waiting until we move. We are also having difficulties finding a reputable breeder. I would definitely be interested in any information you get. We are in PA. If I come across anything I will definitely pass it on to you.

I owned a red bulldog named Gump who was the most fabulous dog anyone could have asked for. While I did not get him through a breeder (I went through a rescue which was wonderful) here is a link to the Bulldog Association of America's list of reputable breeders. You have to be very careful because there are so many breeders out there who are not. I believe you email them and they will contact you. http://thebca.org/breedref.html
Good luck- bulldogs are the best!

I have been considering a pup too and in researching, found that the bulldog is one of the best to get. That is about all I know. I would personally love a ShihTsu

We almost adopted an english bulldog named Diesel (i almost died when I heard that name!). Have you tried petfinder.com? Sometimes you can find puppies on there who are looking for new homes and you might be able to find both a healthy puppy and a dog in need of a home! I know alot of people who work at shelters who have $1500 dollar puppies coming in right and left because people find out that they are allergic, their kids dont like them, more responsibility than they expected, etc etc. My friend has a bulldog and she had to go to Oregon to go get him- talk about a schlep! here is a link- who knows.. maybe you will find one!

We always check out the dog shows to find breeders, I would take a look there first.

My bully was born on April 16th of this year, I get him in 14 days! I have been waiting and waiting, although, 7-8 weeks really isnt that long when you think of how long I was pregnant for...UGH. :) I paid $2000, which is normal, between $2000 and $3500 I think is the average, because of the C-Section costs that the breeders pay. I have done a LOT of research, and I have a friend who has owned one for 5 years now. They require tons more attention than most dogs, hygiene, vet bills, they have more issues than most. You probably cant own one if youre lazy, work a 40 hour work week, etc.

Be very cautious of finding a dog online where the breeder is willing to ship him/her to you without even asking you any questions.......RED FLAG
