The Short Version

OK...... So here it goes....
So you all know that I had that job interview on Thursday... After being kept waiting for 30 minutes It went great, atleast it went great with the 1st person I interviewed with he loved me!! Keyword, HE...We sat and talked for about 45 minutes... Things went very, very well... Though I was having doubts about the actual job (and the building, not so attractive)!
After meeting with the head of the office I met with the H&R Director who was not as accomodating... Wouldn't ya know from the moment she walked into the room she didn't like me.. She looked me up and down multiple times! Keyword SHE!! I think from the moment she stepped into the room she felt threatened or intimadated by me... Can you believe that, intimadated by little 'ole me!?! And it's not like I was a bitch, I was very professional, nice, and polite!! And dressed extremly professional!
So she sat down and started to talk to me and right off the bat she asked me if maybe I wanted to interview for the receptionist position instead!! I couldn't believe it! She said I looked like I'd be a good receptionist...I mean, not that there is anything wrong with being a receptionist but, that wasn't what I was there to interview for!! WERID, right?....
So after the interview I called my Mom and told her how it went.. I told her about the girl and that she didn't seem to like me too much based on my appearances... I mean I'm not a beauty queen, but I like to think I am a rather attractive girl...
So later that afternoon (much to my dismay) I get a call from the recruiter that they LOVED me... he spoke to the guy I interviewed with and he loved me and wanted to set up a second interview and have me do an hour Web Tour with a trainer about the company... So I went with it and gave them my available schedule...We set something up for the following week...
Anyway, wouldn't you know that I get the following email!!
**** has decided not to pursue you as a candidate for the position. I am sorry to hear that and wish you the best of luck.
And in my head i thought WTF? I had a 2nd interview set and training tour set up.. What could have possibly went wrong overnight....Right?
Well, apparently the recruiter spoke to the FEMALE I interviewed with! I'm not sure what exactly she said! But whatever it was she didn't like me...But what about my interview, what about the Web Tour? Sheeshh... what a bitch that lady was.. Seriously!!
What I can't understand is that if they loved me and set up all of these things for me for next week what changed all of that? I mean I'm not upset that i didn't get the job - I am upset because this women felt threatened(atleast that's how I feel - I like to think I have a good understanding of people) she canned the whole thing!!
I guess I have to look at it like "why would I want to work for a place that acted like that anayway!" It's not a big deal!! I was just wondering what made them change their minds so quickly..

that is bullshit. I'm sorry, but you should call them and question them- why in the world would they send you a letter like that after offering you a second interview? I agree that it would be best not to work for people like that, but just to give them some grief I would call and ask what the heck. (in polite ways)

What she said about you being a receptionist, I have never heard something more patronizing and cruel. I'm sorry, but basically she has issues. She is bullying you- so no, imagine working for that kind of witch. The guy liked you, ofcourse, you seem to have similar impact on people than me, guys always like me and girls always look at me up and down. I'm so sorry it didn't work out, I know how much you wanted that job, you must be dissapointed :(

You should call them and ask. Since you were turned down, you have a right to ask what it was that they didn't like or what they felt was missing. You can approach it from the stand point of what can you do to improve for next time. But you certainly deserve an explanation about what changed.

I'm sorry that you had to deal with all that!

She was obviously threatened by you! I unfortunately have seen this over and over and it is never OK. Some people never grow up!

I am so sorry you have had to deal with such an awful woman!

Wow- why are some people like that? I'm guessing it's because you are very pretty and she was threatened by that, for some reason.

Ya know what though- it's probably not a place you'd want to be if you would have to deal with her.

Woah. That girl has serious problems. They are going to have some bad employees if she keeps hiring based on looks!

What an a-hole. Why are women like that? Just know it's their loss, and would you really want to work with someone like that?

sheesh that stinks and is seriously ridiculous. but if they have employees like that there, then i don't think you'd want to be there either.

Oh man there is NO WAY you want to work with that lady. That job was destined to make you unhappy.

I'm sorry though, it's still a disappointment. The right opportunity will come along.

BELIEVE that. ;)

Aww. That really sucks.
But just think, it wasn't meant to be and you'll find something better. Keep your head up and be positive!
