The 30th Surprise Birthday Party

OK.... So I have been M.I.A. a lil - but for good reasons... As most of you already know, Saturday I gave Brian a Surprise 30th Birthday Party for all of our friends and family! I was sooo busy prior to the party.. Setting up, cleaning, cooking, running errands, and much much more..

I had the party at Brian's parent's summer house that sits right on the bay! I invited 80 people( only 10 couldn't attend)!! His mom and I catered the party and even hired 2 waitresses to help with the food and the clean-up!(I will say that was the best thing we did and I recommend it to anyone having a big party like that at their house, it really, really helps).

So - Brian thought we were going to his parent's house for a plain old family BBQ... Little did he know there were 70 people waiting to celebrate with him! He was in complete shock and completely surprised when we walked through the back gate and everyone yelled surprise!!

A great time was had by all, especially the Birthday boy and myself.. I love him so much and was so excited to give him the best birthday ever - a birthday that he completely deserved surrounded by everyone that loves us!

Check out the pics below:

His face in this picture is so priceless!

He still couldn't believe it!

Drum Roll Please......

So right at this moment my BIG secret is being exposed!! (sorry, yes i did write this post indvance) Right at this moment Brian & I are walking through the door at his parent's beach house for the 30th SURPRISE Birthday party that I have been planning for him for the past year.. Yes, that's right! I have been planning this party for a year! I actually started thinking about it at Danielle's Baby shower for Eliza which was last August!!
I know most of you are probably disappointed with my secret... But it was a big deal for me to keep that surprise from him for such a long time.. Brian's 30th Bday is on September 8th but I wanted to have the party for him before I get started with the school year again!!
I have invited 78 people, only 8 people said NO... So it's gonna be a big bash, I hope! I have gotten it catered, got a custom cake, and even made special Sangria for this big day!!
I am so excited I just hope he has NO idea!! But I guess we'll see...
Check back tomorrow - I'm sure I will have lots of pictures to post and stories to tell...
Sorry again if you thought my secret was going to be something better! But it was such a great secret for me to keep - I am so happy to be having this party for him! I love him sooo much and he really deserves to be surrounded by friends and family for this great milestone in his life!! I feel so happy to be doing this!! I hope it all goes well - Fingers Crossed!!

Welcome to My Blog... My name is Dana and I'm a 27 (almost 28) year old Kindergarten Teacher from New Jersey. I decided to start a blog because one of my best friends, Danielle, recently started one (check her out at New Mommy Rant) and really seems to enjoy it! I thought that I'd love a place to go to every day to "Just Talk."

Sometimes we need a place to come to and vent! Sometimes we need a place to come to get away. This is my place to "Just Talk", to share new "secret" recipes, to make new friends, to review products, to rant and rave about everyday life.

I graduated college with a BA in Communication in Radio and TV. I had a great internship with VH1 in NYC, but being in the City at the time of 911 I rethought commuting and working there everyday. So I decided after I graduated to go back and get my Masters in Education. I have been a teacher for 3 years now. Being a Kindergarten Teacher you always have to be on your toes, keep your eyes open, and be REALLY happy! I love my students and enjoy teaching them. It is truly rewarding to see it all click within them, espceially when they read their 1st sentence! So with all of that said I'll spill my 1st secret - I don't know if I want to be a Teacher anymore! Now What? :(
