Tasty Tuesdays

Here is another edition of Tasty Tuesdays. Also, check out Danielle @ New Mommy Rant for another good recipe on Tasty Tuesdays. We hope you enjoy!
Baked Macaroni & Cheese

Prep Time: 20 minutes
Cook Time: 45 minutes

Ingredients
1/2 pound elbow macaroni
3 tablespoons butter
3 tablespoons flour
3 cups milk
1/2 cup yellow onion, finely diced
1 bay leaf
1/2 teaspoon paprika
1 large egg
4 ounces sharp cheddar, shredded
1 teaspoon kosher salt
Fresh black pepper
For Topping(Optional): 3 tablespoons butter
&
1 cup panko bread crumbs

Preparation

Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. In a large pot of boiling, salted water cook the pasta to al dente.

While the pasta is cooking, in a separate pot, melt the butter. Whisk in the flour and keep it moving for about five minutes. Make sure it's free of lumps. Stir in the milk, onion, bay leaf, and paprika. Simmer for ten minutes and remove the bay leaf.
Beat in the egg. Stir in 3/4 of the cheese. Season with salt and pepper. Fold the macaroni into the mix and pour into a 2-quart casserole dish. Top with remaining cheese. Melt the butter in a saute pan and toss the bread crumbs to coat. Top the macaroni with the bread crumbs.

Bake for 30 minutes. Remove from
oven and rest for five minutes before serving.

Eat & Enjoy!!

Sounds yummmmy! I love to cook (but hate cleaning up all the dishes!!)

Also, if you don't win, check out bloggeruniversity.blogspot.com. There are all kinds of templates and tricks for blogger. (I knew NOTHING about web design before checking it out, but it was easy enough for me to use. So it's worth a shot! And FREE!)

Dude, my sister makes this (or maybe just a very similar version) and it's incredible. SO good. I should start trying out your recipes to one-up her, but I'm lazy and I like it when she cooks for me. Haha.

Thanks for the recipe. I've always been afraid of Mac & Cheese after eating the Kraft dinner ones, but I'll give this one a go!

BTW, I clicked on the link. GL with that.

Hi - I love baked macaroni and cheese. Now I'm going to crave it until I have it!

I used to work in early childhood education - in daycare and as a nanny for two families. Now I just act like a kid with my husband. It's fun!
