**This Keeps Me Going**

So, like I mentioned on Monday - I had a case of the "Back To School Blues." But now that it is almost the weekend I'm feeling alittle better. (Thank God)

At the end of every school year I put together a "memory book" for each of my students. This is compiled of work they've completed throughout the year; writing, crafts, projects, and pictures. It makes for a nice keepsake!I also jot down sweet, funny phrases that I hear and type them out. Some prases make it and for obvious reasons other's don't.

I thought it would be fun to share some of the phrases that didn't make the cut. So with that said here are some of the things my students have said; **This keeps me going** through those long, drawn out weeks. And remember, my students are 5 & 6 year old Kindergarteners and they are really sweet kids. Ok, so here goes....

~"Divorce is when your Mommy lives in a big house and your Daddy lives in a small apartment."

~"Let's knock the hell out of the baby doll."

~"You can't be my friend today because I don't like your shirt."
~"Your hair looks much better in a ponytail."

~"Next week I'm going on Fu*kation." (pronounced F*ck, because of the missing 2 front teeth)

~"My Daddy's a fool."

~"If I could wish for anything I'd wish for a big pet shark to eat my Mom & Dad so I can be the ruler of the house & eat whatever I want."

I could go on & on & on & on with the incredible things that come out of my little darlings mouths. Unfortunately, I don't get to laugh until I get home from work.. And sometimes it's hard not to laugh at school... Children are so honest and innocent some times, y ou've got to love it!

I wish I could be that honest all of the time! Don't You?

Somtimes work seems like a part out of Kindergarten Cop, LOL!

haha, I loved these. Little kids just make me smile because they are so funny! I swear when I have kids, I won't need cable because I'll just listen to them talk all the time.

Kids do say the craziest things. And they are brutally honest. I remember getting my hair cut one year, and a few of my students looked so disappointed.

And THAT is exactly the reason I want to have children. They're hilarious.

I was a camp counselor and I worked for 2 summer with kids who ranged in age from 6 to 10. I wrote down some of the things they said, and to this day, I still look back at those journals and have a good laugh.

I love it! As a teacher I would always come home with funny stories of what my students would say. Now that I'm a mom I pray that my daughter doesn't say at school the majority of things that come out of her mouth at home!

LOVE IT! You are such a great teacher and sidenote: that is the kid who played Michelle's friend on Full House. What ever happened to him? Someone IMDB it!

I am full of useless TV facts!

Ahh. Thats too funny. My daughter says some stupid things and I try not to laugh. But it's hard.

Yes, Oprah was rather strange today. Stranger than strange can get. For the most part, freaky. It looks nasty.

Kids are way too funny! I will never forgt when I over heard one of the girls in the house center saying, "Put down that beer and go to your room!" to one of the little boys! Today one of my kids said, Ms. Tamez is pissed!. I was like that is not a nice word. We also did -ap family words. Of course one little boy thought crap would be very fuuny to add to the list. It is NEVER boring.

My mom used to write down the phrases I came up with. You've inspired me to hunt her notebook down. Some of them were funny.

The ones you've shared here are absolutely priceless. Thanks for the smile, Dana.

I love Kindergarten cop! I miss a lot of the funny things my students say because I ignore then when they're speaking German. But the language issue adds a lot of adorable mis-speakings.

This is too funny! My 3 year old cracks me up every day with the funny stuff she says, so I can only imagine a whole room of little kids!
Great idea for the memory book - I have something similar from when I was in Kindergarten that our teacher put together for us, a binder with projects, papers, drawings, and pictures, and it is so neat to still have that.

I hate it when they say, "Mr. Blevins, you smells like my Dad."

I teach ESL and I heard a group of my 1st graders talking about "pantalones de abuelos". So I asked them what who they were talking about. They started laughing and said, "You Mr. Blevins!" I guess grandpa's in Mexico wear brown polyester slacks!

I used to always say, "I should be writing this down" when my kids would say funny stuff when I was teaching. And I should have- I don't remember most of the funny things they said. Those were sooooo cute!
