I know once we grow up we get set in a routine. We go to work, come home, eat dinner, go to bed, get up, go to work.... Get My Picture?
But I've noticed that my life is a lil bland lately!! But I think i'm ok with that! I think that I feel this way mostly because i am exhausted when I come home from work! I know I've only been at the new job for a week, but even at my old job I busted my butt to work hard and make money. And when I leave for work at 6:30 in the morning and don't come home til 6 I'm tired! And all I want to do is eat dinner and relax.
Brian keeps pushing me to go to the Gym... And god knows I really want to! But i am beat when I come home from work! The last thing I want to do is go to the gym and work out. Cause then I still have to come home shower, cook dinner, etc.. It would be 11 pm before I even sat down.. and that would be NOT GOOD!!!! Call me lazy.. I call me a hard worker!!! LOL..
I mean I have a great time on the weekends, we go out with friends, go to dinners, and stay home and relax together, watch movies!! But I'm stuck in a little bit of a rut. When do I find time for me? I want to be that independent, hard working, successful women that can do it all!!!

it is hard, but you will find that once you carve out a bit of time for yourself you will find the time to do everything else too
It can be extremely hard! It took me months and months to finally get to the gym. Now that I'm going, I'm scared to even skip a day in fear that I will not go back to the gym for months!
My trick is just to go to the gym right after work. When I get home, I shower, eat and then read blogs. I've cut out a lot of my other things that I used to do in the evenings, but it's something I am will to do to get back in shape.
I definitely know what you're going through, and it's hard to break that routine, especially when you're attempting to find one that suits you with a new job.
In a few weeks, you will have enough energy, and you'll begin making more time for yourself because you feel better. Trust me. The same thing happened when I started my job here.
Let yourself get used to your new routine, your new schedule, and then make time for YOU by hitting the gym. I'm not exactly leading by example (but I will be!), but I know how awesome a good adrenaline push can make you feel, even when you think you're already beat. Good luck! And congrats again on the new (great!) job!
That does sound difficult!
Here's a recommendation (hopefully): Do you have a slow cooker? Maybe use that on your gym days so there is no cooking involved! Just throw ingredients in the morning and go! Then come home, work out, and eat! Good luck!
I know what you mean, that's why I decided to start going to the gym during lunch hour, because I can't even think of having to go after or before work.
Don't ask me- I am hopeless with exercise and in bed by 9!
Yeah...I understand...but make sure that you do get some time for yourself too - it's important to be able to just sit down and relax too after a long hard day of work! :)
oh man i am with you on that one, matt and i are always so tired when we get home we rarely do anything during the week. i don't know how other people do it, haha.
Getting in a routine is hard and it is so easy to get in a rut or doing the same thing every day. But you figure it out. Working out at night after work is tough. It leaves you no time for you during the week unless you are someone that can function on little to no sleep...I definitely can't do that anymore. But I always found going to the gym I had way more energy. Ugh, it is so hard. I think you are doing great with what you are doing!
i think part of it is the january blahs. i know exactly what you're feeling.
i've worked out the time issue, sometimes. it seems to do what i want for me i have to disapoint someone else. less time with friends, on the phone, blogs ect. but it's worth it to me. the gym is a whole other issue:)
Ok so I read your 100 things and after the first 5 I realized we have a lot in common!
Fellow Jersey girl, fellow Catholic, AND someone who once worked at Banana - my favorite store ever! We may be blogging soul mates. :)
Haha! Have a GREAT weekend hun.
I think once you adjust to your new job it will be a little easier. it's always so hard at first- give yourself a couple of months and you'll get into a good routine!
That definitely sounds like a problem. If you are too exausted to do anything when you get home, maybe try getting up a little bit earlier and doing some early moring yoga as exercise. Then save the harder stuff (cardio/weights) for the weekends. And maybe schedule out time during the evening for you to just go have a relaxing bath? Things do sound overwhelming but I'm betting once you get more used to your job, you won't be as exausted.
