New Do

OK...... So I've been thinking for a LOOOOONG time now that I want to dye my hair dark!! I've never been dark at all..... I was born with bleach blond hair and was naturally light all the way through freshman year of college... Once I hit college I started to highlight my hair and loved the very, very light highlights! But for the last year or so I have really wanted to dye my hair dark like Reese Witherspoon in Walk The Line!! I love her hair color and she is very fair like I am and I think she looked great!!
Brian says I should go for it!! He said that I look great with blonde hair and he loves it on be but thinks I would look great with dark hair as well.. My mother on the other hand told me I wouldn't look good.. She also told me I would add 5 years of age to my look if I did it.. I just think she likes me as a blonde and wouldn't like the change!! I don't know..I wanted to do it before my brother's wedding but my hairdresser convinced me not to incase I hated it!! She said it would be very hard to get back my color because my hair is so light!!!
What do you think?? You think I'd age my look by dying my hair? You think I should go for it? I really want to but am soooo nervous I'd hate it.. And then it would be very expensive and a long process to get it back...I want a change.. I've had low lights, very very dark low lights and loved it with the blonde contrast!! But what if I loved it!?! I don't know!! Maybe I should go to a Halloween Store and try on a wig, LOL....

BLONDE?
BRUNETTE?BLONDE?

BRUNETTE?

eeeeecckkkkkkkk.... what's a girl to do?

I say it's hair... it grows! Just know that with a drastic change getting it back is a lot of work and you will have to keep it up or you'll look like a skunk... lol

what about doing a temporary wash to see if you like it before doing something more permanent?

I think go for it- it is only hair after all and will grow out. But I would wait until after the wedding- just in case you don't like it like your hairdresser said. But then I say go for it!

you know me- I say go for it. I juist watched Sex and the City and I LOVED when Carrie changed her hair. I think it is very sophisticated. I don't even know if I spelled that right. haha

Oooh, I'm so torn!

I absolutely LOVE your blonde hair, but I'm a huge fan of brunettes. (Uh, since I AM one, maybe?)

Give it a try. You're young - and what's a year of being brunette? :)

I think it would look good!!! I have had my hair VERY blonde and very dark before...I really like both. However, if you were to go dark, you will still probably want a few strands of highlights...(to help you get used to it)
I did caramel colored ones in my hair when mine was really dark.

I sooo understand what you mean! I have been a redhead my whole life, but lately have been thinking about going to another color. I have darker red roots (they come out dark, but lighten up as they grow. . . it's totally weird) but I often have super blonde highlights put in the summer so I thought I could try either one, but am chicken! I have been having more and more highlights put in over the summer, kind of babystepping it. Anyway, back to you, I love the color of Reese's hair, and agree that it would look great on you. Of course it will take some getting used to, but your beautiful and it really could be a whole new dynamic for you!

Give it a shot! I think it would be really cute. Of course, this is coming from the natural brunette who has only played within the brunette/red color palatte of hair color because blonde would be frightening on me.

If worse comes to worse, you can always dye it back to the original color, right?

It will definitely make your eyes pop!
I say go for it. It's just hair! And if you don't like it you can always undo it.

I'm kind of biased, being blond and all, but if you are brave enough...go for it! I have never been brave enough to die my hair dark. I am just too attached to the blond.

I always love to try new things with hair because if you don't like it, it will grow out, you can redye it, etc. I say go for it!

I agree with trying a temp color to test it. I also would wait until after the big day! Either way, I think it will look nice!

Ohhh. I think
dark hair would look
GREAT on you.

And if you hate it...
you can always go back
to blonde, right?

It's fun to experiment!
And I definitely think
you should.

You're a knockout
either way!!

But yayy...DO IT, Dana!

I say try it! You're lovely with your natural blonde, but it's not that hard to go back, even from a super dark color (I did it in about 3 months). How fun... I love hair makeovers. :)

I love dying my hair, so I think you should definitely do it! I have been changing my hair color since my freshman year of high school.

I am a big chicken like that so I would never do it - but since it's not me, do it! :)

I think you should go for the brunette!

You actually kind of look like Reese in the last picture!

I say go for it, but slowly. Have low lights put in, in stages.

I went really dark last winter, and I didn't hate it but, when spring came back around it took a lot of time and money to get it back. Not to mention all of the pictures where my hair looked orange...ack!

your beautiful and would look good either way, I'm partial to blonde. You could always do lowlights of a dark color that would blend and not be such a drastic change. But hey! Sometimes we need a drastic change to shake things up.
